Baldurs Gate 3, the game that really shouldn’t run as well as it does on Steam Deck but somehow does anyway, has just picked up another chunky update. Deck performance was already in a good place, as you can see from the older footage below, but this patch smooths things out even more. It’s one of those updates where you don’t fully appreciate the tweaks until you hop back in and suddenly everything just feels nicer.

his one tackles a mix of performance improvements, bug fixes and general polish across the board. It tightens up a few of the heavier areas, cleans up some lingering visual hiccups and sorts out a handful of odd little issues that popped up after the last patch. It’s not a headline-grabbing overhaul, but it does make the overall experience sharper on handheld. If you’ve been bouncing around between big fights and crowded towns, you should notice things behaving more consistently.

If you scroll through the full notes, they’ve also slipped in some quality of life touches. Nothing earth shattering, just the usual Larian thing where they can’t help but keep tidying the place. And the best part is that all these changes stack nicely with what was already a really solid Deck build. Compare the two videos below and you’ll see how it’s gradually gone from “surprisingly smooth” to “why does this run better than half the native PC ports this year”.
